A fundraiser for sick children is being held in honour of Matthew Healy who was found unresponsive in a car in Dunmore East in Co Waterford and died later in hospital
Today would have been Matthew's 7th birthday
His father James Healy is to celebrate his birthday by hosting a motorcycle and vintage car run in Watergrasshill on Sunday with all proceeds and donations to Make A Wish
Matthew was a senior infants pupil in Faithlegg National School in Waterford. At his funeral symbols of his life included Lego cars, jellies, arts and crafts and his cycling helmet.
James says Matthew had huge potential and was far beyond his years in many respects
"We are shattered from it really and we will always remain that way as he had huge potential. I know that often parents can be guilty of thinking their own or fabulous and there's an element of that but he was extraordinary young ladeen because he was fierce intelligent and fierce articulate from a very young age you know"
