A lecturer at Munster Technological University has been selected as a member of the Global Young Academy
Kapal Dev, a PhD student and Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, is one of only 40 scientists chosen this year
The Global Young Academy is an international society of young scientists, aiming to give a voice to young scientists across the globe.
Members are elected for five-year terms and participate in international science policy development and empower future generations of researchers through advocacy and support.
Mr Dev’s appointment as member of the Global Young Academy demonstrates MTU’s position as a centre of excellence in education and research.
Formerly a senior researcher at MTU, Mr Dev is currently serving as an Assistant Lecturer in MTU. His research interests include Wireless Communication Networks, Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence and has supervised over 22 students at masters and PhD level in the same areas. He has published over 70 research papers, and was named IEEE ComSoc EMEA Outstanding Young Researcher in 2022.
Speaking about his achievement, Mr Dev said: “I am delighted to have been chose from a pool of brilliant young researchers/scientist worldwide from all fields. Being recognised by Global Young Academy is a powerful validation of my work and fuels my excitement to contribute to their mission of connecting with other early-career scientists across disciplines and continents.”
