24 year old Warren McGrath of Curraheen Lawn in Bishopstown appeared before Cork Circuit Criminal Court today and pleaded guilty to 12 charges
The court heard Gardaí received a call from a member of the public to say that a 17 year old girl had woken up to find McGrath in her bedroom on the 14th of November last year.
Gardaí arrived at the scene and found McGrath attempting to take a car from a driveway.
He threatened to stab the owner of the car and later assaulted four Gardaí in Togher Garda station.
Judge Sean O'Donnabhain said producing a knife and threatening an innocent householder were serious aggravating factors and jailed him for five and half years.
