A car and a truck collided on the N20 Mallow to Cork road around one kilometre outside the town just after 9:30.
The N20 is closed between the Annabella Roundabout and the Dromahane road to facilitate a technical examination and
diversions are in place.
The motorist is the second road user to die in Cork since yesterday and the eighth to lose their life in Cork since the start of the year.
