The Department of Education has proposed that two classes from Owenabue Educate Together National School move to pre-fab classrooms on the Carrigaline Educate Together site.

The school says the sites are too far apart which will be disruptive for parents as well as unfair on children who are isolated from their school.

Speaking to RedFM News, Principal of Owenabue Educate Together National School, Trina Golden says the plan doesn’t make any sense

"It's just one of those plans that makes sense if you're sitting down looking at Google Maps, and you say, you know they're only seven minutes away, but in reality on the ground if you know Cork, if you know Carrigaline  you realise it doesn't make any sense. If you mention this to people, they laugh, because it's all utterly ludicrous. There is no family, that can do that, there is no family who has that spare time in the morning"
