A Status Orange rain warning will come into affect for Cork later today.

The yellow alert - currently in place for the entire county as well as Kerry - is due to be upgraded at midday, for 24 hours.

The Road Safety Authority is urging motorists to drive with caution throughout the day.

There's been a crash at the Dunkettle roundabout Glanmire, emergency services are at the scene and traffic is heavily backed up at the N25 eastbound and on the N8 towards the city.

Meanwhile some low lying city quays partially flooded during high tide this morning.

Traders say the weather warning brings huge fears for their businesses.

Speaking to RedFM News, Paul Walsh of Three Little Piggies Café on Union Quay says business owners in the area can't get flood insurance to replace stock and interiors if they flood:
