A woman from Spring Lane in Blackpool says her tap water has never been so dirty in 48 years of living there.

The issue of dirty rusty water was raised in the Dáil yesterday after thousands of complaints from people across the city.

Uisce Éireann says over 50% of pipes in the city are old cast iron and when repairs are being done, water can become discoloured.

Speaking to RedFM News, Sonya Cashman who lives in Spring Lane, says the water is having a severe impact on her family's life:

"Our children have to shower and bathe in this water, I've even come out of the shower myself and it's brown. So I don't know how people are supposed to cope."
