A representative for taxi drivers in Cork says abuse of taxi drivers is becoming more common.
It follows the assault of a taxi driver in the early hours of Saturday morning on Grand Parade .
The driver was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained and Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
Bobby Lynch spoke to the Neil Prendeville show about the abuse drivers face:
"People step out of the car and they'd spit at you. Spit at you. Some people get out of the car and they'd throw the money at you. Other people get out and tell you 'I'm not paying you' and walk away"
