A report released today by the Mental Health Commission found The Centre for Mental Health Care and Recovery on the grounds of Bantry Hospital had not minimised the anchor points to the lowest practical level based on risk assessment.
Inspectors found the four individual care plans they viewed did not identify appropriate goals for the residents...
The report also found residents at the 18-bed facility did not have access to appropriately-sized communal rooms.
The centre recorded an overall compliance rating of 85%, a slight decrease compared to last year when it received a rating of 88% compliance.
Management at the facility say all individual care plans were reviewed following the inspection and structural defects such as ligature points were identified and minimised.
