An 18 year old has been airlifted to hospital following a crash in West Cork earlier

Emergency services responded to the crash on the N71 - that's the main Ballydehob to Schull Road at 1.20pm

The accident between a car and a school bus happened at Barnagearagh at lunchtime No children were on the school bus at the time of the crash

Gardai have confirmed to RedFM News that one casualty - an 18 year old man was airlifted to Cork University Hospital for treatment

Motorists are asked to avoid the area as the road is closed as they await a tow truck for the bus

A forensic collision investigation of the scene is also to be conducted

Local diversions are in place
