The Communications Workers Union says they are awaiting the company's proposals on the matter

An Post says no decision has been taken on the possible closure of two of their delivery offices in Togher and Churchfield with reports this morning suggesting that staff would be redeployed to the Cork Mail Centre at Little Island

The Little Island hub is due to close at the end of this month with the loss of around 240 jobs.
An Post announced the move in July as part of efforts to save €11 million and the growth of ecommerce and online shopping.

In a statement issued to us this morning An Post says no decision will be taken without the involvement and co-operation of their trade unions and in the best interests of customers and staff

Meanwhile a spokesman for the Communications Workers Union told RedFM News that they are engaged in ongoing talks with An Post, they say the reconfiguration is not unexpected and they are awaiting the company's proposals on the matter
