Aontú is calling for a No/No vote in the upcoming referendums, saying they're "poorly written" and "vague".
Tomorrow voters across the country will decide whether or not to broaden the definition of family, and recognise the role of carers in our Constitution.
Aontú is the only political party opposing the changes, citing concerns including the failure to define "other durable relationships."
Leader Peadar Toibin says he's also worried about the Care Amendment and the responsibilities it may place on families:
"The care amendment is peak virtue signaling at the moment from the Government, but in the reality it's a million miles away from that in people's lives. I think this amendment was designed by the Department of Finance because it is from the perspective of the Government defending itself financially rather than actually stating to citizens that there is an obligation for the states to provide health for those who care and those who need care."
