Appeal for birthday cards to be sent to young Cork boy left paralysed after an accident

A public appeal has been issued to post a birthday card to a young boy from Dromohane who will turn 12 next month after he was left paralysed after an accident while on a family holiday in France.

Kevin O’Callaghan is currently in Temple Street Hospital in Dublin after he was airlifted there from Paris just weeks after the accident which occurred in February.

Kevin who is a sixth-class pupil from Dromahane, suffered serious injuries after he fell in a play area the night before he was due to go to Disneyland.

It’s expected that Kevin will face a long road of rehabilitation and his sister Rachel says while he is making some progress and has some movement in his hands but his condition at the moment is unknown.

Kevin's 12th birthday is on the 1st of May and his family are organising a birthday card appeal to help lift his spirits.

Cards can be sent to Kevin O’Callaghan care of Ballysimon, Dromahane, Mallow in Co Cork.
