Approximately 500 swimmers are expected to take part in the 2022 Vibes and Scribes Lee Swim today - after a two year absence.
The 2 kilometre point-to-point swimming race through the centre of the city kicks off at 3 o'clock - from the Mercy Hospital and finishes at the Clayton Hotel.
It dates back to 1914 but has been held annually since 2005.
Organised by Cork Lions Club, it is open to all competent swimmers.
The event is one of the biggest open-water swims in Ireland.
