Gardaí, Cork City Fire Brigade and the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit are at an incident on College Road this evening.
A small area around a terraced house has been cordoned off by Gardaí, and there are some minor diversions in place.
Gardaí told RedFM News that it is understood that a number of potentially hazardous chemicals are present, but that there is no hazard to the public at the current time.
