The people of West Cork are finally speaking to Gardaí about the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier that happened 25 years ago according to a British journalist, who has written a book about the crime.
The French film producer was killed at her holiday home near Toormore on the 23rd of December 1996.
Nick Foster says it has emerged that her killer took a silver watch from her body, immediately after the murder.
He says he's very optimistic the case will eventually be solved:
"Well, you know what, I'm very proud of the people of West Cork because I know of contacts that I've had in the last few months that they're resisting intimidation. You know, they're learning to lose their fear. They're finding their voices. And they're speaking to Gardaí. They know that they won't be able to move on until this toxic stain is taken away once and for all."
