The availability of rental properties in Cork and around the country remains extremely limited.
On August 1st, there were fewer than 1,200 homes available to rent across the country.
Stock to rent remains low in Munster with just 173 properties available in the province at the start of the month.
The latest report by Daft.ie shows rents in Dublin are stabilising, but are still rising elsewhere.
Cork City rents have risen by 7.4% in the past year and the average rent is now €1793 while in the county the average rent now stands at €1410.
Economist and author of the report, Ronan Lyons, says supply appears to be the defining factor:
"The level of availability around the country including in Dublin is awful. Compared to, if you go back in Dublin 20 years, the number of homes available online, it's very low. But what's happened in the last year is that the amount of homes available to rent in Dublin has doubled but it hasn't really increased elsewhere in the country. It's up a little bit but not a lot".
