Locals in Ballinhassig have come together to put pressure on the National Transport Authority to secure a bus service for the area
The area had been serviced by West Cork Connects - a private bus operator - for the last seven months however that service through Ballinhassig is to end this week in favour of a direct route from Kinsale to Cork
A public meeting was held in Ballinhassig at the weekend as a campaign gets underway to ensure the area is serviced by public transport
In a statement the NTA says they're currently conducting a survey on the matter and this will be assessed to identify cost-effective solutions for serving the area.
