Over 50 homes and businesses were damaged after the river reportedly broke it's banks at Seskin and the culvert under the town collapsed and destroyed a number of roads
New street, main street, barrack street, the square and the quays were hit with the flash flooding after 11pm- the water has since receded, however the town remains closed to traffic pending assessment.
The Council says it is redeploying crews from around the county to assist with the clean up operation in the town.
