Christmas is the time of giving, so why not keep that spirit going into the new year by donating any unwanted gifts to a Barnardos shop.
Barnardos have seven shops across the country that are accepting donations, including one in Cork.
Maybe you already have a copy of the book you were gifted, or your child may be just a bit too old for the toy he was given by a family member? Don't let these gifts go to waste, donate them to Barnardos!
Speaking of the initiative, Bernadette Harrington, Barnardos Shops Manager said:
“In each of our shops you will find anything from clothes, shoes, accessories and children’s items to household goods. If you received anything that was too small, too big or just not right for your home we will gladly find a home for it in our shop. The funds brought in from each donated item will go directly towards our work with just under 18,000 children and families in communities across the country, so it really will be the gift that keeps on giving. There is something for everyone in Barnardos shops and donations of unwanted gifts, big or small, are always welcome!"
