A body found in Mallow yesterday may have lain undiscovered for more than twenty years.
Two council workers came upon the remains at around 12-noon on Friday when they entered a boarded-up home on Beecher St.
The house, between the Dairygold Roundabout and The Mousetrap Bar, has been preserved by Gardaí
The Irish Times is reporting today, that food found in the person's fridge dated back to 2001.
The remains have been taken to the morgue at Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem will be carried out.
Investigations are ongoing.
