Gardaí have described the man’s death as ‘unexplained’.
Emergency services were called to an apartment at Carey’s Wharf in Youghal shortly after 2am this morning.
The man in his 60s was pronounced dead and the scene is being preserved for a technical examination.
The County Coroner has been notified and the State Pathologist has been informed.
Gardaí say the results of a post mortem at Cork University Hospital will determine the course of their investigation.
It’s understood the man’s death may have taken place in the previous weeks or months.
