Management at MTU have taken the decision to keep the Cork campuses closed for the reminder of the week due to the significant IT breach and telephone outage which occurred last weekend
In an email to students management say they are now planning for a phased and manged return to teaching and learning from Monday February 13th
The decision has been taken to allow them to follow structured and cautious procedures and protocols that must be completed in order to ensure the security of their systems
Outdoor facilities at the Cork campuses will reopen tomorrow in order to facilitate pre-arranged, low-risk activities such as sports training
The statement concludes that they will continue to engage with the relevant authorities including the National Cyber Security Centre and their security partners as investigations continue into the breach
