Bus Éireann say they have introduced a €2,000 signing bonus for new drivers in Cork in effort to encourage people to join the company.
The company has launched a major recruitment campaign and are offering the sign-on bonus for all people with a D-category licence who join before the end of September.
A number of open days are taking place this week in an effort to recruit up to 40 drivers.
Speaking to RedFM News, recruitment manager Fiona Kingston outlines why they have introduced the welcome bonus:
"In a really buoyant employment market, we feel like we need to do something. We need to ensure that our services are running efficiently and smartly. We want to make sure that our customers are happy and that our drivers are safe. This welcome bonus we hope will attract people to our open days."
