Frustrated traders in one of the worst flood-hit towns in Cork have told the Taoiseach that they need the government's relief fund to be increased immediately.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is in Midleton today after a flash flood damaged around 100 homes and businesses in the town.
The clean up operation in Midleton alone is expected to cost millions, with many people saying their insurance will not cover flood damage.
An Emergency Humanitarian Support Scheme is available to small businesses who have suffered flood damage.
The initial payment is €5,000 with up to €20,000 in total available to each business.
