Business owners on MacCurtain Street in the city say they can’t afford to stay open if roadworks continue on the street.
Michael Wall who owns Salvagem Antique Store says the lack of footfall on the street is causing a drop in sales and his regular customers are telling him they can’t come to the area because of the ongoing works.
The board of the VQ hope the works on MacCurtain Street will be completed by late November.
Speaking to RedFM News, Michael Wall of Salvagem on MacCurtain Street says his sales have been down since the roadworks began:
"I think we have had seven sales, which is absoloutely ludacris and its coming from the roadworks causing a drop in footfall, I'd ask city council to come back to me and tell us when this is going to be fixed, and what supports are their for us, because we haven't seen a anything."
