A Cork Councillor has made the call after a number of incidents in the Carrigaline/Crosshaven area
It follows further antisocial behaviour in the area in the past week when Gardaí were forced to call for back up to disperse a group of 30 youths who had gathered outside the home of a couple in Crosshaven which had been invaded by two rivaling groups.
It's understood the couple, who have been left shaken by the incident, were in their home on Tuesday evening when five male youths burst in and said they were being chased by another group. Three other male youths, one of whom was armed with a hammer, then entered the house making threats.
Carrigaline has also been the scene of a number of anti-social incidents in recent months and calls are being made for the issue to be tacked head on.
