Calls are being made for better signage for motorists on the Dunkettle Interchange as road users claim the new layout system is confusing.
Long tailbacks and delays have been reported since the new fast access lane system opened at the interchange on Sunday.
Motorists have complained of unclear advance messaging, not enough information on the new layout and the channeling of traffic heading to Little Island into one lane has also been criticised.
In response to the complaints Transport Infrastructure Ireland says the initial disruption at the interchange is likely given the complexity and sophistication of the junction which some motorists are finding confusing.
The Garda traffic corps say they are monitoring the situation.
