There are calls for Bus Éireann to increase the capacity on some of its local Cork bus routes.
Weekday mornings on Route 260 from Youghal to Cork, weekday afternoons on Route 40 Midleton to Dungarvan and all commuter services on Route 226 Kinsale to Cork (226) are so busy that buses are full almost immediately.
So much so, passengers in both directions, including along all intermediate stops, on those routes are reporting being left stranded, with no alternative public transport options.
Cork East TD, James O'Connor says "it is now the time to utilize a double decker bus" on routes such as the 7am service from Youghal to Cork.
While the Green Party representative, Marc Ó Riain says it's "absolutely unacceptable for Bus Éireann to continue to ignore complaints from its users".
RedFM News has contacted Bus Éireann for comment.
