The fall in foreign tourism numbers has led to calls for urgent Government intervention to halt the drop

It's feared the decline in numbers will pose a severe threat to the livelihoods of small towns and rural communities across Cork

CSO figures show foreign visitor numbers to Ireland fell 30 per cent in February compared to the same period last year and visitor spending dropped by a similarly steep 31 per cent.

Business owners in small tourist towns across Cork have raised their concerns about the decline as many rely heavily on the industry to keep their businesses going
