Calls have been made for the allocation of more Gardai to Cork in the wake of an escalation in violence and anti social behaviour in the city
Cllr Ken O'Flynn is appealing to the Justice Minister to intervene and mobilise additional guards on the ground in Cork
He claims that fear has gripped some communities in the wake of an ongoing family feud and the two incidents in Blackpool overnight which saw the ramming of a Garda car and the recovery of a suspicious device on Thomas Davis Street
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr O'Flynn says law and order needs to be restored
"We have had a huge upsurge in violence and serious crime in the city over the last number of weeks, in particular with this ongoing family feud bomb threats in Blackpool other incidents happening in Blackpool last night as well. The Minister of Justice needs to realise that there is a serious need for extra boots on the ground here in the city"
