Calls have been made for the removal of phone boxes from the city.
Many of the kiosks have been vandalised and fallen into disrepair in recent years and business owners say they are an eyesore
Cork City Council is engaging with Eir and drawing up a plan to remove certain phone boxes and potentially replace others
Speaking to RedFM News, Eddie Mullins of Fitzgerald Menswear on Patrick Street says it's time they were removed to allow the city put its' best foot forward:
"We seem to be just at a stalemate, nothing's happening, and they're deteriorating by the week, and it just sends out the wrong signal for the city We're doing so much right. Tourists have come in, in big numbers the last few weeks. I think people in general just walk past them, but they're in a disgraceful condition, and they need to go as a matter of urgency."
