Calls to Cork Dog Action Welfare Group from people looking to surrender their dogs have increased tenfold.
The welfare group are appealing to people to consider all the options available before giving up their dog to them due to the pressure for space they're facing.
The Echo reports the welfare group had to declare a couple of weeks ago they were closed to new dogs because they had so many.
Cork Dawg are getting 4 to 5 calls a day from people looking to surrender their dogs with the increase being put down to people going back to work.
