There are reports of surface water and localised flooding across the city and county, while there has been cancellations, delays and diversions at Cork Airport.
The afternoon arrivaks from London Heathrow and Amsterdam have been cancelled, while the 11:45am flight to Heathrow and 5:10 service to Amsterdam will not go ahead.
This evening’s 7pm flight from Cork to Palma will also not be operating.
Speaking to RedFM News, Barry Holland from Cork Airport outlines the situation for passengers due to travel today:
"Cork Airport is open and operational. Although we have three outbound cancellations and two inbound cancellations, passengers are advised at all times, or any of the other services operating in and out of Cork Airport today to check with their airline directly for a current and up to date status of their flights before traveling to the airport."
