Care agencies in the community and voluntary sector have taken three days of strike action this week.
Trade union Forsá says a third of staff in these agencies are leaving roles to seek better employment.
Yesterday, Enable Ireland workers protested outside facilities in Cork and Kerry.
Eddie Walsh, Fórsa Assistant General Secretary, explains why they've taken strike action:
"Due to the fact that they're working, undertaking vital public services, but being paid inferior rates of pay compared to their colleagues within Section-38 Agencies in the HSE. As a result of that, we're seeing a massive exodus of staff from these agencies which is having a detrimental impact on the services and the waiting lists within those services".
