Locals say the newly opened Carrigaline relief road is already having a positive impact on traffic in the town.
The Western Relief Road at the Kilmoney Road lower, known as Pottery Road, opened on Monday after 18 months of construction works.
One of the main aims of the new relief road is to reduce congestion on the town’s main street and locals say there has been a ‘noticeable’ change to traffic in Carrigaline since it opened.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin will be among the dignitaries at the official opening of Pottery Road on Saturday morning.
