The Cork Business Association says the summer looks set to be very busy for all sectors in the city.
The group have welcomed the news that the Roches Stores building on Patrick Street has been put up for sale after lying idle for two years following the collapse of Debenhams' Irish operation.
The former Easons store across the street is being taken over by a new retailer and the Savoy is currently undergoing a refurbishment that will create apartments and retail space.
Vacancy rates on the city's main street have been a cause of concern for the past few years, with the AIB Bank branch and retailers such as Clarks, Oasis, Jack Jones and Dorothy Perkins among those who closed since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Speaking to RedFM News, President of CBA Kevin Herlihy says the Cork business community is now noticeably more confident.
"The mood in general around the city is very good. The announcement of Live at the Marquee kicking off next month, we had Ed Sheeran two weeks ago, we've got Elton John, we've got Westlife, we've got the Choral Festival.
"There's a lot of different things that are happening in Cork over the next three months.
"So I think it's really really good - traders and restauranteurs, hoteliers, publicans, they're all very, very happy.
