Cheers of joy as Midleton school syndicate collect their winnings

There were cheers of joy from the lucky members of the ‘Seomra 22’ lottery syndicate from Midleton in city today as the group claimed their prize.

64 teachers and staff from St Colman’s Community College collected their cheques on the first day of midterm.

The group won €500,000 in the Euromillions Plus draw on the 17^th of January with a ticket bought locally at Tim McCarthy News on the day of the draw.

A holiday to Bali, a six month supply of takeaways, tickets to Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen are just some of the ideas the group have been considering over the past few weeks.

Trish Carlos is an English teacher and Year Head at the school.

She told RedFM News that it was an amazing feeling when the groups numbers were picked:
