Cillian Murphy says he was having tea and cake at his parents home in the city when he learned about his Oscar nomination.
The actor nominated for Best Actor for his role in Oppenheimer told Variety that he was in his childhood kitchen when the shortlist for the Academy Awards was announced.
Tanáiste Micheal Martin congratulated Cillian saying "he's delighted to see Irish talent being recognised in this years Oscar nominations."
