A primary school in the city centre says some parents and children have nearly been hit by cars while trying to use a pedestrian crossing outside the school.
Parents and students at Cork Educate Together National School on Gratton Street say they have had several near misses at the pedestrian crossing on the one way street.
The lights on the pedestrian crossing are broken and the school has been denied a school traffic warden due to a lack of funding for one.
The school are warning that someone will be hurt unless action is taken to change the current situation.
Speaking to RedFM News, principal Maura O'Riordan outlines the danger to students and their parents.
"There are two lanes of traffic, one lane in the morning and the afternoon is blocked.
"That means that the left lane is speeding past our pedestrian crossing, they don't see it, and their eyes are trained on the traffic lights at the end of the street.
"We have children and parents who are half way across the pedestrian traffic and then are met with traffic that doesn't see them."
