The City Council is insisting that it is not its responsibility to repair the Quay Wall on O'Sullivan's Quay.
Diversions were briefly put in place last Saturday, when the quay wall collapsed between the Grand Parade car park, backing onto South Main Street, and the river.
The council says the South Gate Bridge, near where the wall fell into the river, is secure.
According to the Irish Examiner the City Council believes that the responsibility to repair the quay wall rests with the property owner.
