The City Council has issued more than 21,000 parking fines in the first five months of 2022.
According to today's Echo, they have generated almost 970,000 euro for the council.
The penalty for illegal parking on footpaths, cycle lanes and bus lanes doubled from €40 to €80 in February.
Motorists can get a Fixed Charge Penalty Notices for offences such as parking in unassigned areas, and failing to display a valid parking disc.
