A City Councillor has said that "NIMBYism is alive and well - and living in Bishopstown".
Councillor Colette Finn was speaking in the wake of planning being approved for Purpose-Built Student Accommodation near Rossa Avenue.
The City Council gave the go-ahead for 16 townhouses and three four-storey apartment blocks, to provide 205 bedspaces.
The council received over a hundred submissions and objections about the planning application.
In a statement to RedFM News, Councillor Finn said she cannot say that she is concerned about the housing crisis and then refuse to build student accommodation near MTU.
