Clarks on Patrick Street announces its closure

Patrick St has been dealt another blow in the wake of the COVID19 outbreak as Clark's shoe store has announced its closure.

In a statement the company say that, after careful consideration, they have decided to no longer trade at St. Patrick Street in Cork.

It follows the withdrawal of Debenhams, Monsoon, Oasis and Warehouse from the city's main street.

It comes after comments by Cork Debenhams workers to this week that the will avoid seeking employment in the retail sector Leeside in the future.

The retail outlet announced the closure of its Irish stores in recent months and workers have been staging demonstrations outside the stores since, calling for redundancy payment.
