Southdoc announced in March that it was closing several clinics in Cork and Kerry due to the impact of Covid-19.
Many have since reopened, however the clinic in Blackpool remains closed.
Green Party leader Eamon Ryan said he will look into the matter after it was raised by Cork TD Thomas Gould.
Speaking in the Daíl, Deputy Gould says the closure means people from the northside are finding it hard to access the out of hours service:
"I contacted the HSE and the operators of SouthDoc, wanting to know a timeline for when SouthDoc Blackpool will be opened. At the moment people have to travel over to the Kinsale road. For people who don't have car, it's a €20 fee to get a taxi over another €20 back. This is a vital service for the people of the northside of Cork City and for Cork North Central as a whole."
