The 14-year-old from Deerpark in the city died yesterday after getting into difficulty while swimming with friends in Passage West.
In a statement this morning, principal of Coláiste Éamann Rís Aaron Wolfe says the school is deeply saddened by yesterday’s tragic events and has expressed sympathy with Jack’s family.
The teenager was due to begin second year at the school in the city next week.
Mr Wolfe says he has been in contact with the O’Sullivan family, who have requested privacy at this difficult time.
Coláiste Éamann Rís has implemented a critical incident management plan with psychologists from the National Educational Psychological service at the school today to support and advice teachers.
The school will remain open for students throughout the day and the school have requested that their privacy be respected.
