A nationwide cold snap is showing no sign of shifting over the coming days.
A yellow low temperature and ice warning will kick in for the entire country from 8pm this evening.
Meteorologist with Met Eireann, Mark Bowe says morning commutes will be treacherous this week:
"The freezing temperatures overnight, and at this time of year, with no sun around and plenty of cloud, frosted ice may linger for longer during the morning, so the morning commutes will be quite tricky, especially with plenty of ice around for most mornings. So that's going to persist for most of this week, so we're in for a couple of days of really the same overnight weather, I'm afraid, plenty of frost and ice that do take care, especially in the mornings."
