A People Before Profit TD's asking if the the Green Party's aware of plans for a fracked gas terminal in Cork Harbour.

Brid Smith says it raises serious questions over the ongoing government formation talks.

She's asking if Greens' Leader Eamon Ryan knows about the plans to import fracked gas from America to Cork.

Deputy Smith says as negotiations continue, his party must get clarification from Fine Gael and Fianna Fail as to whether they'll ban this practice.

"Are they aware of the advanced stage of them [plans to import fracked gas]?

"And if so, have they gotten a strong enough commitment from Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael as per one of their demands of the negotiations for a future government that there will be an outright absolute ban of the importation of fracked gas from the USA?

"And if they haven't gotten that, then I think this raises serious questions both for the climate movement, and the Green Party's talks with the government."
