It comes after a stabbing in at a pub in the Paul St area of the city yesterday evening
It resulted in a man being hospitalised for non life threatening injuries.
A man was arrested by gardaí shortly after the incident however investigations are still ongoing.
It follows a number of other violent incidents in recent months in recent months which have sparked fears among the public.
