The priest who was present when the remains of Tina Satchwell were removed from a house in Youghal says the confirmation that it is her brings a terrible and distressful wait for answers to an end.
It has been confirmed that the skeletal remains found at a house in the town are that of the 45-year-old, who has been missing for over six and a half years.
Tina was last seen in public at a car boot sale in Carrigtwohill on the 19th of March 2017.
A man arrested on suspicion of Tina’s murder remains in Garda custody.
Speaking to RedFM News Fr Bill Bermingham says the latest revelation will provide Tina’s family with some comfort at an extremely difficult time:
"While her family don't live here, I know some of them in Fermoy, I'd say we would have a sense of gratitude that at least the case has been brought this far, for them. You know to lose a relative and to not know what has happened to them and to not be able to have a funeral, that's very distressing for them"
